A new home for replanted trees at St Mary's School

St Mary's School Planting 2

We took a trip to St Mary's Primary School in Wakefield to see the 38 trees planted by us and our grounds maintenance contractor, Tivoli Group Limited, after being donated by Wakefield Council.

The birch trees were moved from the Chantry area, which we are redeveloping for new housing.

Sue Young, our Executive Director of Investment, said: “Creating better places to live extends to all areas of our community so we were really pleased to work with Wakefield Council and Tivoli to replant these trees. They will provide new homes for wildlife whilst helping to boost nature-based learning for the pupils at St Mary’s School.”

Emma Brown, Headteacher at St Mary’s School, added: “The children are excited to see our new trees. They’ll enhance our forest school, where we encourage pupils to develop skills and confidence through nature-based learning.”

Sue, TIO Chris Croxall and representatives from Tivoli were joined by pupils from the St Mary's School Council to see the trees in their new homes.
