We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our Assets team as an Assets Surveyor. 

As an Assets Surveyor, you will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive property surveys, with a focus on areas such as damp, mould, and condensation. You will play a key role in developing future capital investment programmes to en-sure that our stock remains in good condition and meets the needs of our cus-tomers both now and in the future. Your expertise will help us to manage, main-tain, and improve our housing stock, providing long-term value for our customers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Conducting property surveys and assessments, providing technical guid-ance on building architecture, fabric, and infrastructure.
  • Offering specialist advice on building defects, including identifying significant repairs, replacements, and upgrades needed across our housing portfolio.
  • Developing strategies and plans for future property interventions, ensuring the effective management and maintenance of the portfolio.
  • Contributing to the development of property reinvestment and building compliance programmes, ensuring that all works meet relevant standards.
  • Specifying and diagnosing remedial works required for faults identified dur-ing surveys.
  • Identifying and reporting on issues related to insurance claims, including fire, flood, damp, condensation, and mould.
  • Working with external insurance providers to manage and reinstate proper-ty damage following major insurance claims, ensuring effective and efficient restoration of properties.
  • Assisting with the implementation of building surveying-related functions and supporting the delivery of the capital investment programme.
  • Manage the home improvement applications form our customers in line with our current policy and procedure.

What we’re looking for

To join our Assets department, we’re looking for someone with:

  • a construction related qualification such as, HNC, CIOB or Diploma in Asset Management or Level 4 of the Framework for Higher Education Qualification;
  • negotiation and persuasion skills with the ability to influence change in others;
  • experience of developing large scale property, reinvestment programme and building compliance programmes; 
  • experience of undertaking residential building surveys providing fault identi-fication and specify diagnostic remedial works;
  • have the knowledge and ability to identify and report on insurance – fire / flood, damp, condensation, and mould; and
  • excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and engage effectively with stakeholders.
