Our latest Annual Report details how we are delivering transformative changes for our customers, our people, our business, and our communities.

Like many organisations last year, WDH had to adapt to homeworking for many of its employees so we could keep you and our people, as safe as possible and still ensure we could deliver our services to you. To help us learn more about your experience and expectations during the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to invite you to take part in an independent survey, which forms part of a wider research project.

Following last night’s announcement from the Prime Minister announcing a third lockdown in England, I want to reassure all our tenants that your safety and wellbeing remains our top priority.

This year, WDH launched a campaign to find the unsung heroes that have helped others during the pandemic, to give them a festive surprise just in time for Christmas. Read about the 12 winners and their act of kindness.

The ongoing pandemic has highlighted the amount of people suffering with their mental health and wellbeing more than ever. Our Wellbeing Team has continued to provide outstanding support for over 500 tenants, over the phone and face to face, during this time.

I am sure you will all agree that 2020 been a very challenging year. Whether you have been isolating at home, continuing to work, combining work with playing the role of teacher or carer, have overcome the virus yourself or have tragically lost a loved one, I think it is safe to say that all of us have been affected in some way by this pandemic. I hope that we may now be over the worst and we might be able to look towards a more positive 2021.

As part of its drive to significantly increase the number of affordable homes in the district, Wakefield Council is working in partnership with WDH to bring forwards brand new homes on a high profile, city centre site.
