What can cause mould?

Find out the causes of mould.

When moisture gathers and settles for a long period, mould can form. Mould is a fungus that needs wet environments to grow.

Condensation is the leading cause of mould in homes.  Most homes will suffer from mould growth at some point.  This is most common around windows and in bathrooms, but can also be found on walls where moisture has settled.

Mould can be avoided by keeping surfaces dry.  This means wiping away any water droplets and keeping rooms well ventilated so moisture can escape.
