What a year!
I am sure you will all agree that 2020 been a very challenging year. Whether you have been isolating at home, continuing to work, combining work with playing the role of teacher or carer, have overcome the virus yourself or have tragically lost a loved one, I think it is safe to say that all of us have been affected in some way by this pandemic. I hope that we may now be over the worst and we might be able to look towards a more positive 2021.
This year I am particularly grateful to all of our partners, not least our NHS colleagues, who have supported us all and are now working so hard to administer a much needed vaccine to the district’s most vulnerable residents; something we have all been so keen to see achieved. I am grateful to all of our partners and our employees who have helped us to support our tenants and to keep you safe in your homes at a time when a safe, warm home has never been so important. I am also grateful to you. I am grateful to you, our tenants, for your support and your patience during this challenging time. You have helped us to keep our employees safe so they can keep you safe and you have shown understanding when our services have been under pressure and might not have been as quick as usual. Thank you.
I’d like to take this final opportunity for 2020, to remind you of the support that is available to you and your families. The festive period is a difficult one for many and I want to assure you that we are still here for you. Whilst our offices, service access points and Hubs are closed over the Christmas and New Year period, you can still contact us in an emergency or for any urgent matter by calling 0345 8 507 507. You can contact us all day, every day, through your online account or the WDH App and, whilst it may take us slightly longer than usual to get back to you, we will get back to you.
