WDH set to deliver national webinar for the Chartered Institute of Housing

Published 22 November 2017

The Debt and Cash Wise teams at WDH will be delivering a webinar to housing professionals across the UK on 6 December. The webinar will show others how the housing association is supporting tenants to get out of debt and manage their money more effectively. The webinar comes on the back of WDH’s win at national UK Housing Awards 2017.

Alongside a blog, the team will host the webinar to demonstrate the actions that have made a real difference to WDH tenants and will showcase the range of support tools and initiatives that helped them win the award for Outstanding Approach to Income Management. The tools developed and offered to tenants include a mobile app, dedicated Cash Wise website and a project to deliver financial education to local schools.

WDH was recognised for going beyond simply providing homes by helping tenants to pay their rent, manage their debts and reduce arrears by offering support with budgeting, making the most of their income and helping them back into work. Results showed that the housing association helped tenants to access over £1.2 million in grants, benefits and utility savings in 2016/17.

Cash Wise Manager for WDH, Pete Beaumont said: “It’s quite an honour to be asked to do a webinar and blog. We hope that by delivering this we can share our best practice with others and highlight the great work that has been done by our teams at WDH. We are delighted at winning the award and very proud to be working with the Chartered Institute of Housing.”

The webinar takes place on 6, December at 11am until 12pm. Visit www.www.cih.org
