WDH and Senior Citizens Support Group event goes down a treat

Published 14 February 2018

WDH teamed up with the Senior Citizens Support Group to hold a joint event  last week for over 100 members and local residents in Horbury.

The event highlighted some of the many WDH services on offer including independent living, health and wellbeing, Cash Wise and Switch and Save.

WDH’s Digital Angels were also on hand to help people get on line and showcase the benefits of going digital.

The Senior Citizens Support Group also treated all guests to an afternoon tea and raffle – which went down a real treat!

At the event the group was presented with a WDH Community Grant for £840 by Natalie Grinsill, WDH’s Tenant Involvement Officer, which will pay for fitness equipment, such as small dumbbells, to help members keep fit.

Tom Long, Chair of the Senior Citizens Support Group, said: “The event was fabulous. Everyone has said how much they have enjoyed it. Our members have found out so much from WDH about different services all in one place. It has been a great success and has worked really well.”
