Our latest Annual Report details how we are delivering transformative changes for our customers, our people, our business, and our communities.

At WDH, we know that the greatest things can be achieved when we work together, and our report shows that our achievements have been built on partnership and collaboration. We’re proud to help create confident communities through activities that do more than just provide homes for people across Wakefield and beyond.

Our key accomplishments between April 2019 and March 2020 included:

  • investing £42 million in 402 properties to provide better quality homes for our tenants;
  • celebrating our 32,000th property, that’s 32,000 homes for families and individuals;
  • supporting 3,300 customers with Universal Credit (UC) applications, reducing the average UC arrears per case to below the national benchmarking average;
  • investing £9.2 million into completing improvement works to roofing and £1.9 million into providing environmental improvements;
  • delivering 104,105 responsive repairs, including emergency call out repairs, completing 95% of repairs on the first visit;
  • engaging with 459 unemployed tenants, assisting 204 into work, and 210 into employment related training; and
  • helping customers reduce household debts and utility costs to the value of £50,000 through our Cash Wise service.
