Snow chains ensure a smooth service this Christmas

Published 9 December 2015

30 sets of snow chains are being purchased by WDH this month as part of our preparations for the winter period.

Between December 2014 and February 2015 we received 12,325 calls relating to repair and maintenance jobs, with similar numbers anticipated this season.

Martin Wilson, WDH Maintenance Manager, said: “The Met office has already issued snow warnings and with responsibility for maintaining over 40,000 homes, we need to make sure that if the weather turns we’re in a position to respond quickly to emergency situations out of hours.

“If a pipe bursts at one of the homes we maintain, the chains will mean that our tradesmen are able to deliver services in times of heavy or prolonged snowfall. Not only does this help us maintain our services over the winter months, it also gives reassurance to our customers that we’re prepared for the onset of wintery weather.”

Tenants experiencing any problems with their property should report the repair online.
