Set to share best practice for ModernGov

Published 4 April 2018

The Debt and Cash Wise teams will present to over 40 professionals from across the housing sector in London on 24 April.

They will be guest speakers at an event hosted by training company Modern.Gov which delivers training to UK government and the public sector. The presentation will demonstrate how the teams have made a real difference to our tenants and will highlight the range of support tools and initiatives that helped them win the Outstanding Approach to Income Management award at last year’s National Housing Awards.

The full day interactive course, Effectively Reducing Rent Arrears, will give attendees the chance to discuss issues and ask questions on new approaches to rent collection and use of digital channels. Modern.Gov approached our teams to show others how we are supporting tenants to get out of debt and manage their money more effectively.

Annette Purcell from Modern.Gov said: “WDH will share their experience of utilising technology and automation to improve rent collection. It will be great to learn from WDH on how to future-proof service delivery and optimise performance.”

We were recognised for going beyond simply providing homes by helping tenants to pay their rent, manage their debts and reduce arrears. Results showed that we helped tenants to access over £1.2 million in grants, benefits and utility savings in 2016/17.

Cash Wise Manager, Pete Beaumont said: “It’s quite an honour to be asked to do a presentation at this level. We hope by delivering this we can share our best practice with others and highlight the great work that has been done by our teams. We are very proud to be working with Modern.Gov.”

The webinar takes place on 24 April at 2.15pm until 3pm. Visit Understanding ModernGov.
