School children learn about site safety

WDH, in partnership with Starfish Construction, is building new homes in Wakefield. To ensure the safety of students at the nearby  Sandal Magna Primary School WDH has worked with the school to educate them about the importance of staying safe near building sites.

Children from all year groups, reception to year six, attended an assembly with WDH and were asked to create a poster to show what they had learned.

The completed posters were entered into a competition and the winners were presented with a £10 voucher and their posters will be used around the site.

The new development will consist of six, two bedroom semi-detached properties and two, three bedroom semi-detached properties for rent. There will also be two, two bedroom and six, three bedroom semi-detached properties for sale through Shared Ownership.

Natalie Grinsill, WDH’s Tenant Involvement Officer, said: “We were overwhelmed by the standard of the posters and very happy with how much the children learned from the assembly. It’s great that they now understand the dangers of building sites having one so close to the go to school.”
