Pontefract residents are over the moon with WDH

Published 8 November 2016

Work has begun in The Avenues, Pontefract as WDH provides off street parking, new boundary walls, fencing and gates. The scheme will also create two new green spaces for local residents.

Some of the first residents to have their work finished are Mr and Mrs Parkinson, of Love Lane, Pontefract, who have lived in their home for 28 years.

Mrs Parkinson said: “The experience from start to finish has been excellent. We were kept well informed all the way through. Our garden has been transformed, it is absolutely lovely and our great grandchildren will love playing here in the summer. We are over the moon and very much looking forward to seeing what the rest of the scheme will look like when it is all finished.”

The scheme is being jointly delivered by the Area and The scheme is being delivered by the Investment Team for the West Area. Adam Green, WDH’s Home Builder Manager, said: “This environmental scheme is the first of its kind that WDH’s Homebuilder Team has delivered and the project is a great way to improve the quality of life for our tenants. It’s proving to be a big hit with our customers.“

Whilst we have only just completed the first section of the project on Love Lane, we have been encouraged by the positive comments we have received from customers and stakeholders. We see ourselves very much as guests in the area while we are carrying out these works and the positive feedback we have received from Mr and Mrs Parkinson supports our drive for customer service excellence and our continued involvement in the Considerate Constructors Scheme.”

The project is due to be completed by Summer 2017.
