Our latest Vision update is now available

We are pleased to announce that our latest Vision update is now available.

The document highlights our achievements and provides an update on the progress we have made towards reaching our 2020 milestone – to become an enterprise with social impacts.

The last year came with a number of challenges, including the introduction of Universal Credit across Wakefield. However, we have continued to deliver the high standards we pride ourselves on and develop services and support to meet the ever evolving needs of our customers.

This year, our successes include:

  • supporting over 1,800 people to manage their finances, tackling the pressures of Universal Credit;
  • recruiting over 100 new employees and promoting 89 internal candidates;
  • helping over 100 people to get on the property ladder through shared ownership;
  • completing improvements to some of our independent living schemes;
  • helping over 2,000 people back on their feet after falls through our Care Link service;
  • and many more.

Whilst the Vision update provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made over the last 12 months, it also sets out some of the activities and initiatives we will look to implement over the next year.

Over the coming year we will continue to build on our achievements by:

  • building and acquiring new homes;
  • continuing on our journey to become a digital business by maximising the take up of digital services and implementing the next phase of Dynamics;
  • creating opportunities to recruit and develop a skilled, agile and resilient workforce; and
  • providing targeted support to enable our tenants to live independently.
