Poster is more than just a load of rubbish!

Published 20 November 2014

Children from Portobello created a poster out of recycling during a Fun Day at the Castle Children’s Centre after local residents raised concerns about the amount of litter in the area.

The youngsters decided to create a poster out of the discarded waste to promote effective recycling.

They made a giant wall collage out of bits of rubbish which will now be displayed at the centre, as well as providing information about littering to parents.

Kathryn Hutchinson, Tenant Involvement Officer at WDH, said: “By working with the Wakefield Council and Castle Children’s Centre on this project, we have hopefully encouraged children and parents to think about the many benefits of recycling, including improving the appearance of our estates.”
