We have welcomed the first tenants to our latest Homebuilder development; they were presented with a cake by Adam Green, WDH’s Home Builder Manager.
Danielle and James Tweedale, and their son Mason, are the first tenants at our Waterton Court development in Crofton. The 32 timber-framed properties on the site are now being allocated through our Homesearch scheme to tenants, with many tenants already signed up.
The completion of the Waterton Court developments marks 50 new build properties completed by our Homebuilder Team of skilled tradespeople. More than 70 of our tradespeople, including apprentices, have worked on the site since work began last year. WDH’s Home Builder Manager, Adam Green, said: “The houses at Waterton Court have been specifically designed to reduce fuel poverty in the district, offering each tenant up to 70% combined fuel bill reductions from their previous houses.”
The Tweedales, who are from Crofton, needed a bigger property as their family will be joined by a new addition after Christmas so the timing has been perfect.
On getting their keys, Danielle said: “We are absolutely over the moon. The house is amazing, I love it! The area is lovely and quiet and it’s great to finally have a garden for Mason and the new baby to be able to play in. We can’t wait to move in and make it our own.”
Martyn Gorton, WDH’s Director of Investment, said: “We remain one of very few social landlords delivering properties using the skills of our own workforce, and we are extremely proud of the workmanship at Waterton Court.”
