Festive entertainment for extra care residents

Published 22 December 2015

Residents of Mellwood House in South Elmsall were treated to festive entertainment and musical bingo at a recent coffee morning.  Attendees sat down to enjoy a buffet, songs from a local entertainer and a raffle, which saw £147.50 raised for the scheme’s social fund.

Social activities and outings regularly take place at all our Independent Living schemes and these are regularly organised in response to suggestions from residents.

Mellwood House is one of three ‘extra care’ schemes we have within the Wakefield area. In addition to the usual benefits of our Independent Living schemes, residents have a hot meal at lunch time as well as some domestic help in their own flats and additional support from staff on-site.  If you, or someone you know, might be interested in this type of property or any of our other Independent Living schemes, please contact the Independent Living team on 01977 724449 or email ILT@wdh.co.uk to find out more.
