Featherstone students spruce up Ackton Centre grounds

Year 6 students from Featherstone All Saints School recently celebrated completing their SATS exams by spending the day outside at the Ackton Centre working on a WDH Love Where You Live project.

Organised by WDH in partnership with the school,  pupils spent their time digging out and re-planting a large planter to the front of the centre’s main entrance and taking part in a litter pick of the grounds. The children also played games of cricket and ate their lunch on the field.

Thomas Lawton, WDH Tenant Involvement Officer, said: “Most of the students are from the Ackton area, so it was wonderful to see so many of them taking pride in their area.

“They all really enjoyed the day and following it we are now preparing a plaque to sit on the planter to celebrate the children’s hard work and also our 10 year anniversary.”
