Volunteers in Kettlethorpe have secured funding to continue running a community playgroup thanks to WDH.

The Kettlethorpe Playgroup have relocated their day care service to the recently refurbished Standbridge Lane Community Service, which used to house the former Kettlethorpe Primary School.

The grTenant Involvement Officer Chris Croxall presents the group with a chequeoup was awarded £567.16 as part of the WDH Community Grant Scheme to help cover the cost of renting the building.

The playgroup has been running for over 20 years and is organised by volunteers, offering lower cost childcare services to parents living in the nearby Kettlethorpe and Hall Green areas.

Chris Croxall, Tenant Involvement Officer at WDH, said: “We’re thrilled to have been able to help the Kettlethorpe Playgroup with this child care service which provides an important respite for parents in the Kettlethorpe area without having to pay a premium for it, and it gives the children a chance to interact with others before they go into mainstream nursery.”

The playgroup is open to children aged over two from 9am to 11am, Monday to Thursday. Anyone who would like to register their child with the scheme should contact Bev Noble on 07834898467.
