Community grant for Nostell Village Hall

Published 16 April 2014

Volunteers who help carry out work at Nostell Village Hall were presented with a cheque for £689 at a tea party last week.

The money, which was awarded through WDH’s Community Grant scheme, will be used to improve the hall’s kitchen and bathroom facilities. Soap dispensers, a water heater and a steam cleaner are among the items to be installed.

Diana Burkinshaw, Village Hall Secretary, said:

“The grant will be used to add all the little bits and pieces we need to improve the facility, taking it from being very basic to something much better.”

Jane Gwilliam, WDH’s Tenant Involvement Officer, said:

“Nostell Village Hall is a well-used venue for activities including martial arts, dance classes, and children’s parties. We’re delighted to be able to support its improvement.”

The aim of WDH’s Community Grant Scheme is to provide small grants for local community and voluntary groups.
