We are pleased to share our latest Annual Report with our customers and stakeholders. The Report highlights some of our achievements and the great work that was carried out during 2020/2021 and showcases some of the ways in which we have contributed and worked with others to make our communities great places to live.

WDH has worked in partnership with Kettlethorpe Nature Action Group and residents to plant 1,500 trees on WDH land in Kettlethorpe. The project, called Hendal Lane Community Plantation, forms part of the White Rose Forest initiative that aims to work with communities and land owners to plant trees where they are needed the most.

Applications to live at the newly refurbished independent living scheme, Stoney Garth in Wakefield are now open. The scheme, which has undergone major improvement works to the value of £2 million will be welcoming its first tenants early this year.

As England remains in Plan B and we continue to see an increasing number of people needing to isolate as a result of either a positive COVID test result or because they are experiencing symptoms, we are feeling the pressure on our services.

We have invested £20,000 to help hundreds of Knottingley residents on means-tested benefits to enjoy half-price food shopping, free skills training and free hot meals for children, at a new store on Pontefract Road, Knottingley.

Our Hubs will be closed over the Christmas period but we are still here to help if you need us. Our Pontefract and Wakefield Hubs will be open until 12 noon on Friday, 24 December and will then close for the Christmas period and reopen as normal from Tuesday, 4 January 2022 at 9 am.
