Between April 2021 to December 2022, Wakefield District Housing (WDH) has worked in partnership with the Wakefield Mental Health Alliance to help over 150 people get safely discharged out of hospital.

Our Adaptations service is the Social Housing Adaptations Service of the Year! The category is awarded by the Foundations Home Improvement Agencies at their National Healthy Housing Awards 2021 and recognises our organisations’ approach to delivering adaptations, occupational therapy and wrap around wellbeing support services, keeping our customers safe and well in their own homes.

Housing for Health Network for West Yorkshire and Harrogate launched 20 November 2020

Following the publication of the Housing for Health report in October 2020, a new Housing for Health Network has been in launched. The group is made up of Housing and Health and Care partners from across West Yorkshire and Harrogate and includes Sarah Roxby, Health and Wellbeing Director from WDH. They will meet bi-monthly to share innovation, good practice, and plans.

We have partnered with technology business Care Management (CM), to pilot innovative technology that will monitor a resident’s health and predict health issues using heart rate, hydration levels, activity, sleep, muscle mass and grip strength.
