Application shortlisting

At this stage of the process we're reviewing all the applications we receive. Because we receive hundreds every year, if you make careless spelling mistakes or don't answer the questions to the best of your ability, it's likely this is as far as you will get!


Assessment days

If you make it through our shortlisting process, congratulations! You should receive an invitation to one of the assessment days being hosted on the dates shown. The day will include practical examination, a test and interview to ensure that we employ the most suitable candidates. The assessment process will last a full day. See the guidance notes for hints and tips.

Provisional Assessment day dates

Office - 23 April

Electrical - 8 and 11 May

Gas - 14 June

Heating and Ventilation - 19 June

Plumbing - 21 and 22 June


Apprentice induction

In your first week of your apprenticeship you will be invited to a five day apprentice induction. This will provide you with all the information and tools you need to kick-start your apprenticeship.

You will attend a five day residential programme. This programme is designed to improve your communication and team-working skills in preparation for your apprenticeship and is essential to your success!

Trades residential - provisional date 20 August
Office based residential - TBC

Level 3 qualification

At the end of your apprenticeship you will receive a Level 3 qualification in your chosen area. This is an advanced qualification equivalent to an A‑Level.


A full-time contract?

At the end of your apprenticeship you will be required to attend an End Point Assessment to determine if you've secured full-time employment. Remember – the time you've spent with us so far has been working towards this point.


Advancing your career

Many of our former apprentices have gone on to work in more senior roles within the organisation (advancing into Officer and Team Leader positions).
