The WDH Board

The Board of Wakefield and District Housing makes decisions about the policies and strategic direction of the organisation.

There are 15 Directors in total, chosen for their particular experiences and skills. Five of these are tenants, five are independent, and five are nominees from Wakefield Council. The Chair is Ken Taylor, who is Executive Director of Groundwork Wakefield and Wakefield Environmental Developments Ltd.

The Board works closely with WDH's Executive Management Team in shaping and agreeing strategic direction, while ensuring good governance and legal accountability in all aspects of WDH.

There are also five Local Management Committees (LMCs), reflecting the communities and management areas of the district. Their main roles are to provide local solutions to local issues, and they have many tenant members.
