Housing Corporation Assessment

The Housing Corporation is the Government agency that funds new affordable housing and regulates housing associations in England.

Wakefield and District Housing’s performance has been assessed by the Corporation, using the ‘traffic light’ system. A ‘green light’ indicates that the Housing Corporation has no concerns about a housing association’s performance, an ‘amber light’ indicates some material concerns, and a ‘red light’ indicates very serious concerns.

We have been awarded three green lights – this means that the Corporation has no concerns about WDH’s performance in terms of financial viability, governance and management.

The Corporation congratulated WDH on having made:

good progress in its first year of operations, implementing many of the commitments to tenants pre-transfer and establishing organisational processes and strategies to deliver its long term objective.
