Supporting People

Supporting People is a Government fund that WDH receives from Wakefield Council to provide housing-related services to help you live as independently as possible.

The Supporting People fund may be able to help if you are elderly, or have a physical, sensory or learning disability and receive Housing Benefit.

Supporting People is managed by the Council the Primary Care Trust and the Probation Service.

Supporting People Services ensure that you get the best possible services to meet your needs.

These include:

• 24-hour-a-day emergency contact service.
• Independent Living accommodation often known as Sheltered Housing offering independent living with support in a safe, secure and clean environment.
• Extra care sheltered housing offering extra services such as meals and domestic assistant support.
