Help for disabled people

If you have a disability or a long-term medical condition, or have difficulty doing everyday tasks such as climbing stairs or bathing, WDH may be able to help you continue to live independently by making changes to your home.

Or, if you feel that you need some additional support, independent living accommodation – with benefits like 24-hour emergency contact and daily support visits – could be an option.

For further information and advice on adaptations or to make an initial enquiry please email the Special Needs and Disability Unit at adaptations@wdh.co.uk

Home adaptations...If you have a disability or a long-term medical condition, or have difficulty doing everyday tasks such as climbing stairs or bathing, we may be able to help you continue to live independently by providing adaptations to your home.

Decoration service...In order to assist specific vulnerable tenants who would have difficulty decorating their properties, WDH has introduced a decoration service as an alternative option to the decoration voucher scheme.

Supporting people... Supporting People is a government fund that WDH receives from Wakefield Council to provide housing related support services to help you live as independently as possible.
