Care Link
Peace of mind - 24 hours a day
Care Link is a personal alarm which you can wear as a pendant and/or have wired into your home. It is connected to the Care Link control centre, so if you have a fall, feel ill or are at risk in any way, you can alert the control centre, where specially trained operators are available round the clock every day to offer advice and reassurance, alert the emergency services or contact relatives or friends.
Care Link alarms help people keep their independence within the community, and give peace of mind to families, friends and carers, knowing that help is at hand no matter what the emergency.
Care Link alarms and pullcords are fitted in WDH bungalows, ground floor flats and sheltered accommodation as part of the tenancy. An alarm and pendant can also be installed in other WDH properties and private accommodation if requested.
Care Link also has a client database which includes details of clients' health, medication, carers, contacts, impairments and other special needs, such as mental health and learning disabilities. It also includes details of any appropriate care, support or risk management plans.
Care Link alarms are not just for elderly and less able bodied people. Those who have suffered from domestic violence can also have an alarm installed, helping them to feel safer. And alarms are used for security reasons in some schools, and by lone workers whose employers are concerned for their safety.
A Care Link alarm is quick and easy to install. To find out more about how to get an alarm installed, telephone Care Link on
01977 788000 or email
carelink@wdh.co.uk. All calls to Care Link are recorded to ensure that a quality service is delivered at all times.
After you call, a member of the Care Link Visiting Team will visit you to demonstrate the equipment and discuss your specific requirements. You can either rent the alarm and pay a monitoring charge to Care Link, or buy the alarm outright and pay just the monitoring charge.
Care Link works in partnership with many different agencies, including the Health Service, Police, Fire Service, Family Services and Leisure Services, and has been awarded
Charter Mark three times. This is a national award recognising excellence in Public Service.
A wide range of other telecare sensors are also available, including pendants, fall detectors, flood detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, gas detectors, inactivity monitors, movement detectors, wandering client alarms, light switch controllers, sounder beacons and visual call indicators.
