Repairs

Sometimes things in your home wear out or get broken and need to be repaired or replaced. In this section, you can find out how to request a repair.

Or read about how to apply to make home improvements if you're a tenant or a leaseholder.

If you need a repair to your property, the first thing you should do is find out whether the repair is something we can do for you, or whether you need to do it yourself.

Examples of repairs Wakefield and District Housing is responsible for:

  • Maintaining systems for a supply of hot and cold water to your home.
  • Ensuring your home is structurally sound and weather-tight.
  • Maintaining windows (but not glazing), gutters, outside doors (not internal) and drains.
  • Keeping the electrical wiring safe.

Check your WDH repairs handbook for more details.

You can also read detailed information about repairs in the Tenants' Handbook.

Or read about how Wakefield and District Housing regularly modernises homes through our improvement programme.
