About the WDH improvement programme

To make sure all homes are brought up to our 'Wakefield Standard' - which is even higher than the Government's Decent Homes Standard, WDH has developed an improvement programme. As part of this programme, your home will be assessed at some point to see whether any improvements need to be made.

These improvements can include replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, electric or gas fires and floor coverings. We always check electrical and gas systems and smoke alarms each year, and repair or replace if needed.

As the resident you will, of course, have a say in what changes are made, and how your home will look – and you will be kept involved and informed at each step of the process.

We work in partnership with four organisations to undertake improvements:
