If you are an assured tenant, you have a right to carry out your own improvements or alterations to your home, but you need to apply for permission, or you could breach your tenancy agreement.

We will not refuse permission unless there is a really good reason. If we do refuse, we will explain the reason why. When we give you permission, we will do so in writing with a list of conditions that you must follow.
