Approved contractors

Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) has partnership agreements with certain contractors and manufacturers.

At present, these include Redring Showers (part of the CREDA Group), Baxi Heating and Worcester Bosch.

From July 2007, Wolseley UK will become Wakefield and District Housing's preferred supplier of construction and maintenance services and materials. Wolseley are the world’s largest distributor of plumbing and building materials.

There are many benefits for both WDH and tenants in having these types of agreements with contractors and manufacturers.

The benefits include:

• More affordable products which are more likely to be available when needed.
• Better communication with manufacturers (e.g. for fault reporting, technical advice).
• Reduced downtime of services – so less inconvenience for tenants.
• User-friendly operating instructions.
• Early identification of product problems, which manufacturer can address.
• Participating in setting a higher standard for others to benefit from.
