Enterprise Clubs Wakefield
Enterprise Clubs can help if you’re interested in becoming self-employed or setting up a
business. If you’re unemployed, Enterprise Clubs offer the opportunity to meet other people
who want to be self-employed, people who are self-employed and business advisers.
Wakefield Enterprise Clubs have been set up by Wakefield Council's Enterprise and
Incubation Team (E&I) in partnership with Wakefield District Jobcentre Plus to deliver
pre start business support to unemployed claimants of the district. The ‘offer’ includes:-
- Group sessions on basic pre and start up advice.
- Further one to one support with the client if requested, on exploring self employment and starting a businesses.
- Signposting and brokering any external support required by the client to turn their business into reality e.g. Finance/Premises etc.
- Support any JSA clients eligible for the Enterprise Allowance Scheme with business planning/advice they may require prior to their formal application to the West Yorkshire Enterprise Agency so that they are in a stronger position to be able to be successful in their application.
- Support any successful Enterprise Allowance Scheme clients post their 6 month mentoring period.
