Digital Switchover
What is Digital Switchover?
TV is changing! The digital TV switchover is the process of turning off the UK's analogue TV signal and replacing
it with a digital signal.
How will it affect me?
Digital TV is a wonderful thing – it allows more channels, better picture quality and new revolutionary interactive features.
The change from analogue to digital will have an even greater impact than the switch to colour TV in the 1960s.
Back then your black and white TV still worked – do nothing and you could still watch TV. This time round - do nothing
and you could find yourself without TV after switchover.
When will it happen?
Starting in 2007 and ending in 2012, analogue TV services in the UK will go completely digital, TV region by TV region.
This process is called digital switchover and will happen here in the Yorkshire TV region in 2011.
