Loft Insulation
We have committed to a scheme to top up loft insulation to all our properties by April 2009. The scheme is run in partnership with npower, who are part funding the project and Viscount Environmental Limited, who will be the main contractor. To date the scheme has saved WDH over £500,000.
The scheme will provide the properties that benefit from the insulation with increased thermal efficiency, this will have a positive effect for tenants, their homes will be warmer, fuel bills will be reduced and there will be fewer incidences of fuel poverty.
Cavity Wall Insulation
We have recently completed a cavity wall insulation scheme in partnership with Scottish Power and Wakefield Council and has resulted in cavity wall insulation been installed to over 4,600 properties.
The scheme, that was funded by Scottish Power, saved WDH over £1.1 million.
Gas Installation
The Energy Efficiency Team are currently managing a scheme to install gas to over 1,000 properties in the Castleford area, it will not only help tenants to reduce their energy bills but also reduce carbon dioxide emissions. |
