The Respect programme is a wide ranging response to tackling anti social behaviour and its causes.
It is about central government, local agencies, local communities and every citizen working together to build a society in which we can respect one another – where anti-social behaviour is rare and tackled effectively, and communities can live in peace together.
The Respect Standard for Housing Management
The new Respect Standard for Housing Management outlines key commitments that are essential to delivering an effective response to anti-social behaviour and help create a culture of respect.
These are:
- Accountability, leadership and commitment.
- Empowering and reassuring residents.
- Prevention and early intervention.
- Providing support for victims and witnesses.
- Protecting communities through swift enforcement.
- Support to tackle the causes of anti social behaviour.
WDH fully support the Respect programme and have signed up to the new Respect Standard for housing management We are fully committed to ensure all our tenants enjoy a decent quality of life and will challenge those responsible for causing anti social behaviour within our neighbourhoods.
Alongside our partners such as Wakefield Council, the Police and community groups, we will work to develop safe and confident neighbourhoods. Our objectives in helping to improve community safety are to:
