Wakefield and District Housing’s Independent Living Service provides support services to vulnerable and older people with support needs within an independent living environment.
You will need to respond to emergency situations, carry out support planning and have daily contact with residents. In addition you will encourage social activities and manage the day to day running and Health & Safety of the scheme.
The post involves travelling around Wakefield and the surrounding district to provide the service for Independent Living and Extra Care Housing Schemes. It includes shift work and bank holiday working and you will also be expected to participate in the out of hours service on a rota basis.
You must be highly motivated, have good communication skills, a sensitive caring approach and a good knowledge of the services available for older and vulnerable people.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Disclosure Application Form and to provide criminal conviction information.
