Where are your allotment sites?

Allotments in the Wakefield district

If you don’t have a garden but want to grow your own fruit, vegetables or flowers, an allotment might be the answer.  You not only get fresh great-tasting seasonal produce but save money too.

You are also doing your bit for the environment, helping to reduce the pollution and energy used by transport and packaging of shop-bought food.

If you are interested in applying for an allotment and would like to know where the sites are located, please click on the site names listed..

We have five allotment sites in the Wakefield district. Each of these sites is made up of individual plots which can be rented by local residents.

The sites are at:

Broomhill Walk, Knottingley
Gervase Road, Horbury
Manor Road, Horbury
Meadway, Streethouse
The Shutt, Horbury

Allotment rents for 2016 / 2017 are between £22.46 and £183.56 a year, depending on the size of the plot. The rental figures are reviewed on annual basis.  A discount of 50% off the annual rent applies to tenants over the age of 60.

For sites where water is provided, an additional water charge will be payable. The amount is assessed by Yorkshire Water, and will be detailed on the statements for each plot.

For more information please email the Development Team or phone 01977 724425.
