Harvest festival celebrations

Published 28 October 2014

Youngsters from St Helens Primary School choir shared their harvest festival celebrations by singing songs and playing bingo with residents at WDH’s Ashfield House Independent Living Scheme in Hemsworth last week.

The event saw more than 20 residents turn out for a morning of entertainment.  Along with songs which included a solo performance from Lily Whitmore, 9, members of the school choir also planted hyacinth bulbs for residents to keep. Three harvest hampers supplied by WDH were also presented to bingo game winners.

Jane Gwilliam, WDH Tenant Involvement Officer, said: “These types of events are important because they help both older and younger people from the community get together and find out a little bit more about each other. Everyone on the day had a great time and we look forward to continuing our partnership work with the school.”
