Students from a school in Normanton learnt about cycling and healthy lifestyles as part of a ‘Bikefest Eco Day’ last week.
The event, which was organised by Wakefield Council, aimed to promote cycling and healthy lifestyles. It included a trials bike stunt show and stalls from multiple agencies.
On the day WDH ran a mapping exercise, in which students had to identify two grid references that contained a cycle path. The map was of the area surrounding The Freeston Academy, so the students recognised where they were. Students were also given flyers on healthy eating and information on how to get involved with WDH.
Thomas Lawton, a WDH Tenant Involvement Officer who attended on the day, said: “It was a wonderful, well organised day. The students had a lot of fun and engaged with everything on offer!”
