Green-fingered residents at one of WDH’s independent living schemes donned their gardening gloves to plant up a colourful array of hanging baskets.
The baskets were hung above the entrance to the Springhills scheme in Potovens Lane, Outwood as part of WDH’s ‘Love Where You Live’ project which aims to improve communities.
The newly planted baskets have enhanced the entrance to the scheme, where tulips and other spring flowering bulbs were planted last autumn and are now providing a splash of colour for residents and visitors alike.
Tenant Involvement Officer Kathryn Hutchinson said: “WDH bought the plants and we took along some cakes for the residents’ weekly coffee morning. They enjoyed planting up the hanging baskets and in the weeks to come we hope they’ll get out into the sunshine to see the results of their efforts as the flowers continue to bloom.”
