Tenants were given free Winter Warmer advice at a session in Wakefield.
Vicci Gibbons from WDH’s Sustainability team was at the WDH Hub on Thursday morning to meet tenants and discuss how they heat their homes as colder weather arrives.
She gave tenants advice on loft and cavity wall insulation as well as giving tips on what the right temperature should be in their homes at different times of the day.
Vicci arranged for one tenant, Scott Gibson from Horbury, to have the insulation checked at his home after he raised concerns about how quickly the temperature dropped during a power cut.
Vicci said: “Mr Gibson was one of a number of tenants who came in to see me and hopefully having the check at his home will put his mind at ease that he has got the appropriate insulation. At this time of year the temperature can drop quickly so if anyone thinks they need help getting the best out of their heating system then they should definitely come and see us.”
The Sustainability team will be at Castleford SAP on Thursday 18 December, at South Elmsall SAP on Thursday 15 January and at Pontefract SAP on Thursday 22 January (all sessions 10am-noon).
