As the deadline to nominate a group or individual for a Love Where You Live Award draws closer we’re launching an incentive to encourage even more nominations than ever before.
Good neighbours and green heroes in the Wakefield district who make a positive difference to their communities will be celebrated in our fourth annual awards, and if you nominate a group or individual for a LWYLA before the deadline of Friday 26 June you’ll be put into a random £100 prize draw. Everyone who’s already nominated this year will also be included!
Tenants, residents and community groups can nominate people for the hard work they put in to make the Wakefield district a better place to live.
This year the contest will again feature eight categories, with each winner receiving £500 to donate to a community group of their choice thanks to our sponsors Sodexo.
WDH Chief Executive Kevin Dodd said: “Our Love Where You Live Awards are a community-wide celebration of people who make this a district to be proud of and they become more successful every year.
“A great deal of hard work has been going on across the district to make our communities better places to live and local people are at the heart of this.”
“You can nominate yourself or anyone you think deserves recognition for their efforts."
To make an award nomination you can download the form from the dedicated website www.lovewhereyouliveawards.co.uk, pick one up from any service access point or request a copy by calling 01977 788644.
Award judging will taking place during July and August. Members of the public will then be able to vote for three finalists in each category before the winners are announced at a grand finale at the beginning of October.
