Residents at WDH’s city centre Independent Living Scheme, Hatfeild Court, took part in a free chair-based exercise taster session last week as part of an initiative to help those with reduced mobility stay fit.
Organised in partnership between WDH and Wakefield Council, 10 tenants from the scheme enjoyed an hour of movement and exercise to music.
Chris Croxall, WDH Tenant Involvement Officer, said: “No matter what age or ability, there was something everyone could do. Whilst this initiative is about offering something to help people stay well as they get older, it’s also, for us, about helping bring residents together to create a really enjoyable atmosphere. Everyone had fun, which was important.”
