A parent forum group in Havercroft held a celebration event last week to mark its success at WDH’s Love Where You Live Awards.
Havercroft Parent Forum won the best community group category, and used some of the £500 it was awarded to host an event at Havercroft and Ryhill Community Sports Centre.
Over 80 parents attended along with their children to enjoy fun activities for all the family including face painting, roller skating, balloon making and glitter tattoos.
Nikki Moxon, Havercroft Parent Forum Chair, said: “The forum’s currently hosted at Havercroft and Ryhill Community Sports Centre for free, so we’re really pleased that they’ve also been able to support us with this event. Everyone’s had fun and we’re pleased that we’ve been able to put some of the money we were awarded back into the community.”
Jane Gwilliam, WDH Tenant Involvement Officer, said: “The event was fantastically attended, which just shows how popular the forum is. We’re delighted to have been able to support the group and hope they continue to go from strength to strength.”
