Fire safety message to WDH tenants

Published 7 July 2017

After the tragic events at Grenfell Tower in London last week our thoughts are with all those affected.

We understand that our tenants may be concerned about the safety of our high rise accommodation.

We have visited all tenants living in our 12 high rise blocks and circulated a letter and guidance leaflet (see documents below), hopefully giving confidence that the safety of our residents is our highest priority.

There is obviously a lot of speculation following this incident and what happens next. We are reviewing all our measures and procedures and, in conjunction with West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and our residents, will make the required improvements.

In the meantime, all our blocks are inspected on a daily basis, but we ask for the cooperation of all residents to act responsibly and follow the guidance we have issued.

We would also like to reassure our tenants who live in low rise accommodation that their properties meet the required fire safety standards and would ask tenants to adhere to the safety advice we have provided.

For those tenants who may be concerned as their homes have external wall insulation, we would like to reassure you that the products used meet the required fire safety standards and are non-combustible.

If you are concerned or just need reassurance please call us on 0345 8 507 507.
