TV sewing sensation Julie Gromett is giving a new twist to tweed with two catwalk sessions at The Ridings shopping centre, Wakefield, on Sunday (6 July).
Julie, an Estate Officer for WDH who shot to fame on BBC TV’s ‘Great British Sewing Bee’, has enlisted the help of other Estate Officers and Support Officers from Airedale, her youngest daughter Gracie and also colleagues’ babies to show off her new clothing designs.
Julie said: “I shall also be making an appearance on the catwalk with my special Tweedy Gromett waistcoat. It’s going to be such good fun, with really trendy music.
“My colleagues have been great sports in taking part and being my models, especially Rebecca Tennant (Estate Officer) who did all the choreography. I’d have been lost without them!”
The 15-minute catwalk sessions will be at 11.30 am and 1 pm and everyone is welcome to go along and watch. After that, Julie will be preparing to head to London on Monday week (14 July) as the BBC wants to film an update on her sewing success.
