Become a school governor

Published 5 June 2014

Wakefield Council is currently looking for new school governors around the Wakefield district.

Many WDH colleagues live and work in communities around the Wakefield district and are perfectly placed to use transferable skills gained while working with local people to help local schools succeed.

Becoming a governor will provide a unique development opportunity to learn and use skills, and gain experience in areas such as project management, budget control, administration and marketing. It would allow you to work alongside a wide range of people, offer solutions to interesting challenges and topics, and gaining an insight into the education system. Perhaps most importantly, you will be making a positive impact on the education of children, working towards better schools and a better community.
