Baileygate Court residents welcome in the New Year in their new home

Published 3 January 2018

Baileygate Court residents, both new and old, celebrated Christmas and New Year in style in their newly refurbished homes after major improvement works to the Independent Living Scheme were completed.

All 21 residents attended their first coffee morning giving them the chance to catch up with each other and join in with social activities.

Baileygate Court has undergone an extensive refurbishment, completely modernising the scheme inside and out, including the addition of a 12 space scooter room, salon and spa room.

Phyllis, a resident at Baileygate Court for over 16 years, said: “The work that has been done is wonderful, the rooms look beautiful and bright now. I am impressed with the spa room and can’t wait to try it out.”

Gail Braddish, WDH’s Scheme Manager, said: “It is lovely to have our residents back and to see some new faces! We are looking forward to holding lots of social events in our brand new lounge in the coming months.”

The scheme in Pontefract town centre is ideal for accessing all of Pontefract’s amenities with the town centre and bus station only a short walk away.  There are a selection of self-contained one bedroom and two bedroom flats available.

If you, or someone you know, might be interested in our schemes, which are located across the district, please contact WDH's Independent Living team on 01977 724449 or email ILT@wdh.co.uk to find out more.
