Older Persons Partnership Board

This is a group of people from different agencies that come together to develop services and support for older people.

The Board is made up of representatives from Wakefield Council’s Family Services, Wakefield District Primary Care Trust, local mental health and hospital trusts, the patient forum, Age Concern and Help the Aged.

The Board recently encouraged the formation of a number of forums for older people, to enable them to highlight and tackle issues of concern to older people both locally and nationally.

There are six forums in the district, currently active in Hemsworth, Wakefield, Castleford, Horbury and Ossett, Normanton and Altofts. They will aim to hold a series of meetings each year in which forum and Board members will meet and discuss the topics raised at the forum meetings.
