Your role will be nurturing talented Managers, whilst motivating, developing and leading the HR team. You will be required to work directly with the Chief Executive and Directors and attend senior management meetings including in the absence of the Director of Organisational Development.

In collaboration with senior managers and Directors, you will drive forward the Organisational Development Plan, as well as overseeing the delivery of HR services, ensuring that the specialist advice provided by you and your team is exceptional. You will also lead the campaigns to recruit and on-board exceptional talent to work for WDH.

Having extensive change management experience, including TUPE, redundancy and contractual variations, you will bring your compensation and benefits expertise, to help to shape our reward and recognition plans, as well as having oversight of our benefits provision and managing the outsourced pension scheme contracts.

With a strong focus on complex employee relations matters and employment legislation, you will have experience of collaborating with trade unions and a good understanding of the trade union framework and collective bargaining.

Digitally enabled HR services are at the very forefront of our approach. By supporting the development of the HR system integration, you will be at the heart of our ambitions. You will encourage the HR team to continually refine processes, support the development of digital projects across the organisation and ensure that our decision making and planning is informed by exceptional business intelligence.

About You

  • Degree educated with a Level 7 CIPD qualification and sound generalist HR experience.
  • As a true generalist having led end-to-end executive recruitment campaigns, complex employee relations cases and large-scale organisational change programmes
  • Digitally fluent and with outstanding analytical skills, you will have a real interest in systems and data, and will understand the benefits both provide within an HR context.
  • With some previous compensation and benefits experience, you will be comfortable formulating strategy as well as pragmatic and employee-focussed approaches.
  • A natural communicator and collaborator used to collaborating senior managers, you will be able to hit the ground running, building credibility at all levels.
  • A capable people manager and coach, you are able to lead, develop and inspire an ambitious team.
  • Organised and pro-active, with lots of initiative and an ability to work at pace, you will juggle a varied workload, effectively balancing strategic and operational priorities.
  • As internal customer service champion, with agility and resourcefulness, you will look to continually review and improve the delivery of our HR services.
  • Experience of having worked in a unionised environment would also be an advantage.
